THE MONEY MARKET. IMPROVING PROSPECTS

[PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM'S CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 17

Hon. Jas. Allen (Minister for. Finance) asked if there were any indications that the weakness in the money market was disappearing, said that he thought that there were such indications. The newspapers during the past few days had shown that the stringency is not now so great as it was.

It was unquestionably the ease that a. settlement of the war would appreciably affect the tone of the money market. His own opinion was that questions arising out of the war, such as the division of territory and so forth, would be settled amicably—at least lie hoped that they would be so settled.
