His severe volleying and pretty riglit across the court back-hand evoking frequent applause. He was ably supported by Lowe, who was serving well. Jones and IVright beat Marsh '.ml OUivier 6 —3, 3—6, B—6, 4—6, 6—3, after a magnificent game. Ollivier immediately after beat Thomas in a game of over two hours began the doubles, which are considered his best services. Olliver’s overhead and volleying were attractive. Brookes and Dunlop beat Anderson and Thomas 6 —l. 6 —5, 7 —4, 7 —5.

In the single championship Wright beat Wood 3 —6 4—-6, 6 —2, 6—4. 6—o.
