The wooers of Bacchus were well represented at Court, before Air W. A. Barton, S.AI. yesterday. For his first lapse, a. man was mulcted in a fine of 5s and costs (2s) or 24 hours’ reflection.
John Henry Alaher pleaded guilty to a charge of having committed a breach of his prohibition order and was fined £3 and costs (7s), in default 14 days’ imprisonment. His Worship stated that accused’s seemed to be a hopeless case. John Kilmartin, who did not appear, was fined £3 and costs (7s) or 14 days for a breach of his order. Constable Henderson stated that Ki I mar-t-in had entered licensed premises ar.d asked -for drink, but was refused. Patrick 1 Green was charged with having committed a breach of his prohibition order and did not appear. Sergt. Hutton said that up to the present accused had observed the order well and had improved. On the evidence of Constable Harrold accused was fined £2 and costs (7s) or 10 days’ in gaol.
