(to THE EDITOR.) Sir,—Your correspondent is wrong when he states that the Education Act of 1877 was placed on the Statute Book by the late Sir Harry Atkinson. Sir Harry was certainly Premier when the Act was passed. but he did not in any way assist its passage. He didn't even speak on the men nre during the debate. Sir C. I, w,;M fathered the Bill and we must give him the credit for it. Why doesn't your fa: u hfal correspondent read his history?—i air., etc.. LONGFELLOW.
