TARIFF REFORM.
HOW TO SAVE THE ROSES FOR THE UNIONISTS.
[UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT] (Received Dec. 12, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 12. The “Liverpool Courier” makes an urgent appeal to Lord Lansdowne (Leader, of the Opposition_ in the Lords) to reconsider his decision and renew his pledge to submit tariff reform to the referendum. This was the only way to save Yorkshire and Lancashire for the Unionists. The latter desire a speedy dissolution, but it was feared that the Government’s escape meant an irre’evant “free food” cry.
