At the back of the course Moutoa Girl and Merrivonia were in the lead, and there Mira put in a good run and got into third place. The position was unaltered at the turn into the straight, but Sir Solo came with a great run on the rails, and with Moutoa Girl fought out a rattling finish, winning by just a bare half-length; third horse three lengths away. Bronze lost Mira in the ruck. Time, 2min 38sec. Bronze got galloped on and had a leg cut. Juvenile Handicap, 125 sovs, 5 furlongs.—7 G. S.
