The ferry steamer Takapuna arrived from Napier yesterday and left on the return voyage at 8.10 p.m. The Union Co.’s steamer Tarawera is clue this morning from the South, and tvill be tendered at 6 a.m. and 10 a.m., leaving later for the North. The following passengers have booked to sail:— Misses Haultain, White, Higgins, Hughes, Martyn and Sameall; Mesdames Richardson, Haw Ices, and H. Armstrong; Miami Mrs Murphy: Messrs L. T. Syrnes, Kay, Harrington, Grayson, J. R. Lunn, Walshe, King, Hinc and Fawkes. The Ruru arrived from the South yesterday, and left last night for the Coast. The oil ship Kiritona arrived from Napier yesterday and left at 10.20 p.m. for Tolaga Bay to load wool for shipment by the Muritai.

The Tyser Co.’s steamer Muritai arrived yesterday morning to load wool and mutton for Home. The Shaw-Savitl steamer Waiwora, which has been laying up at Port Chalmers for the past few weeks, is now at Wellington loading for London. Throwing a corked bottle containing her name and address into the Ohio River nearly live years ago. Miss Nora Lea, of Louisville, learned a fortnight ago that it had been picked up off San Diego, California, by Charles Collins, of Toledo, Ohio, who fished it out of Coronado Bay while on a visit to California. He believes the bottle passed down the Ohio, into the Mississippi, through the Gulf of Mexico, then across the Atlantic.
