RECORD CATALOGUE CERTAIN
£by TELEGRAPH —SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT] NAPIEII, Dec. 27. The second wool, sales of the season will 1)3 hold on January 4. The catalogues were closed on Christmas Eve, but at present it is not possible to state the exact number of bales which will be offered, although it is almost certain that the number will constitute a record. For the same sales last year 21.000 J bales were listed The year before the total was 21,000. This year's figures will he approximately made up as follows:
Bales. H.B. Farmers’ Cc-op. Assn. ... 7000 Dalgc-ty and Co. 0000 Williams and Kettle 0000 Murray. Roberts and Co., Ltd 2900 X.Z. Loan and Mercantile ... 2000 Do Pelichet, McLeod and C 0.... 2000 Total 24.900
The recent southerly wind which compelled coastal boats to return to port empty when out for the last shipments before the closing of entries will affect the total, hut to what extent is net definitely known.
