HASTINGS, Dec. 31. The first match of the day was between Swanston and Pearce. Swanston played, a winning game from the outset and took the set 6—2. 6—l, 6 — 2.
Parke (England) beat Olliviar (N.Z.) 64, 6—l, B—6.8 —6. It was a fine game. Beamish beat Dixon (both ‘ England) 6 —2, 7 —5, 6 —l. Beamish beat Brown (N.Z.) 6 —l, 6—l, 6—2. Lowe and Beamish beat Swanston and Peacock 7—5, 6—l, B—lo, 6—3.
HASTINGS, Jan. 1. The Australasian Tennis Tournament was continued to-day at Hastings in fine weather, hut it was much cooler. Only the finals were played. There was a big attendance and fine play, with great enthusiasm. Results: Parke beat Beamish 4—6, 6—4, I—6, 6 —l, 7 — 5. Dixon and Parke beat Beamish and Lowe 6—2, 6 —4, 6—4 in the final of the championship. For the. New Zealand championship Combined Doubles Ollivier and Miss Hartgill beat Fisher and Miss Travers 6 —o, 7—5.
