ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS.
CAST UP BY THE FLOOD. [press association telegram.] INVERCARGILL, April 2. 'l’lie body of a man was found to-day on Mat-aura Island, where it had been cast up by the floods. The throat had been fearfully gashed, probably with a razor, and a doctor states that this is the cause of death. The body has not vet been identified.
DROPPED DEAD. [PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.] DUNEDIN, April 2. John Hansen, 63 years of age, living in Regent Street, South Dunedin, dropped dead in the street at Green Island this ;aftenioon. 'He was a single man and a native of Christiania.
SUICIDE SUSPECTED. - [press association telegram.] AUCKLAND, April 2. A wire was received to-day from Constable Beazley, at Wailiarara, stating that a man named Herbert Perks was found dead on the gumfields. A revolver containing an empty cartridge was lying beside the body and suicide is suspected.
