“ POLITICS ” IN A PRAYER.

GOVERNOR ORDERS CHAPLAIN TO STOP. A sensation was created in the State Legislature of Indiana on February 20, where the proceedings, as in other State Legislatures, open with prayer. The. Rev. Edward Henry, a Baptist Minister of Indianopolis, was praying usual while the legislators were assembling, when the Governor of the State shouted: “Stop - mating a-..political speech!” The minister had prayed, says tho .“Telegraph,” for the separation of tho rum traffic from the State. The Governor, who had been showing signs of impatience, vigorously hanged tho marble, slab with his gavel, and commanded the minister to stop. He ordered the minutes to he read, and Air Henry immediately left tho Chamber.
