KAIRAKI REFLOATED.

MESSAGE FROM THE CAPTAIN

[PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM!

CHRISTCHURCH, June 23. The Kaiapoi Shipping and Trading Company' has received advice from Captain Scott that the coastal steamer Khimki was hauled off the spit at Karamea on this morning’s tide by her own steam and the use of a strong steel hawser. The steamer came off undamaged and is now at the wharf. It is understood that som<v_of the cargo of timber was jettisoned when the vessel went aground on Friday, but a good deal will be recoverable. The stranding would not have happened but for a mishap which took place to the steampipe at. the time of crossing the bar.
