In connection with the trial by Sir William Griffiths of members of tho Human Leopard Society of tho Gold Coast, the evidence _ that in order to prepare medicine with a special virtue, human fat was required. This led to an astounding number of murders. Members of tho society, disguised in leopard skins, usually attacked their victims from behind; They thrust three-pronged forks into the necks, severing the spinal cord. Many victims were eaten, cooked with rice, or raw, according to taste.
