Copeland Savage, of Auckland, has been seriously ill, but cablegrams received this evening indicate that he i* now out of danger. Major Savage, who is one of the city's loading surgeons, is second in command of the second New Zealand stationary hospital, which has proceeded to Egypt with the Fifth Reinforcement- Contingent-. His illness has evidently boon a sudden one, for on Sunday he sent a cablegram to Airs Savage, who is in Auckland, announcing his arrival in Cavt;o and stating that lie was wellOff Tuesday, advice was received from Lieut.-Colonel AY. IT. Park os, officer commanding the hospital, that Major (Savage was seriously ill with septicaemia. A further report received yesterday stated that the fever had subsided and Major Savage’s strength was maintained.
