MONTHLY SITTING. Mr. w. A. Barton, SM-, presided over the monthly sitting of the Magistrate’s Court- at. To Kanaka yesterday. CIVIL OASES. The following civil cases were dealt •with:—A. 'Turnbull (Mr. Burnard) v. H. A. H. Glaridgo (Mr. Bright). Evidence for the defendant was hoard at Carter ton, and the plaintiff’s case was taken to-day. His Worship gave judgment for plaintiff for the amount claimed, TO 10s, being loss of profit on sale of cows which the defendant had failed to deliver, and costs £3. Waikohu County Council (Mr. Burnard) v. WhabakoYa It a tap u, judgment for plaintiff by default for £46 16s lid, and costs £2 18s. A. Nicholson (Mr. Etherington) v. A. Horne (Mr. Barnard) : Judgment was given for defendant for costs amounting to £2, plaintiff’s solicitor stating that lus client had failed to appear to give him instructions. Orders for immediate payment wore made in the following judgment summons cases: —G. K. Easley (Mr. Willock) r. V. E. Sandlant, £9 2s, in default nine days’ imprisonment ; Taylor and Miller (Mr. Burnard) V. To-rao-a. (Mr. Bright), £9 2s 6d, or nine days’ imprisonment, provided dbbtor pays £2 per month execution to ho suspended; same. v. Rata Kowa (MrBright), £2l 11s 3d, in default. 21 days’ imprisonment, provided debtor pays £2 a month execution to ho suspended; same v. Hoora. Kowa (Mr. Bright), £22 13s Sell, in default 22 days’ imprisonment, with same proviso; same v. l’etor Robinson (Mr. Bright), £25 7s Id, or 25 days’ imprisonment, order to be suspended if debtor pays £5 forthwith and £2 in monthly instalments; F. S. Evinson (Mir. Burnard) v. Winiata, £3l 13s sd, in default 31 days’ imprisonment'; Taylor and Millei (Mr. Barnard!) v. William Armitago, £7 19s 9d. or eight days’ imprisonment. H. Baker, charged with can sing a disturbance on the train on Juno Ist at- Ormond, w as fined £1 and costs £l 17s.
