Wth the advent of spring, however, tin' condition of things had improved wonderfully. Several trades, notably the leather trades, were kept exceptionally Intsv through the uentands of the reinforcements and, indeed, all skilled trades had been kept steadily bus\ since October last. For tin* primary industries then' had been a particularly busy season and labor has been dillioidt to find at times owing to the number of men from the country \yho had gone to the front.
