TOKOMAItU BAY. (From Our Own Correspondent.) TOKOMAItU BAt, Aug. 5. Oh Wednesday night it semi-sacred and patriotic entertainment was given by the Lyric Picture Co. in the T'oko-mar-u Town Hall. There was a good attendance and the whole of the proceeds are to go to the wounded and distressed of the New Zealand soldiers. A beautifully colored picture, entitled the “Life of Christ,"’ was screened, and appropriate songs were rendered during the evening,. each item being heartily .applauded. The following is tin; programme; Duet, "He Wipes the Tear From liverv Eye," Misses Hale (those ladies also gave a .very nice rendering of the Russian National Anthem): "Ora Pro Nobis,”- Mrs (L E. Keith; “The Holy City,” Mr C. W. Lynch, and choruses by the Lyric male voice choir; recitations, ‘‘Somebody’s Darling,” by Miss Slutsky and ‘•Stonewall Jackson" by Mr D. It. Henderson. Mr E. Ci'ocker played the aoionipaniments and. the programme closed by the audience singing “Rule Britannia" and "Cod Save the King.”
