Official: The German fleet yesterday appeared off Dirben Channel at the entrance to the Gulf of Riga, evidently intending to break the mine-harrier, which our fleet was protecting. Tlie attacks were repulsed, the enemy losing three ships damaged by our mines. Our Josses were nil. (Received August 11, 1 a.m.) A German fleet of nine battleships and 1 welvo.cruisers and a large number of destroyers made persistent attacks at the entrance to the Gulf of Riga, but were repulsed evervwhere. Our seaplanes, by throwing bombs, contributed to our success and our mines damaged an enemy cruiser and two destroyers.
