A conference in regard to the questi*i;i of munitions and general supplies for the Defence Department took place to-day between -the Minister for Defence’ (i-ion. .!. A lien) and the Minister for Munitions and Supplies (Hon. A. M. Myers.) '['ln.' probabilities are that tenders may be called for the supplies, unless other satisfactory arrangements can he made with the manufacturers. A contract has just been let. or is about to bo let. for three months’ supplies of clothing and boots, but if we send the x wo extra battalions that we have offered to the Jmneria! Government, we will n.'-etl mere supplies than have been tendered for. Wo will, in such case, have to supplement the three months’ supplies and, at tile expiration of that time, the whole question of future supplies will have to be dealt with.”
