WAIPIRO BA.’. (From Our Own Correspondent.') WAIPIRO BAY, Aug. 9. Two of the men who arc leaving with the next detachment of troops from. Gisborne left Waipiro on Tuesday. These two—Messrs J. Nixon and Goo. Dewes —intend to stay in Gis>borno until the .Loth inst. Messrs Nurse, T and J. Turnbull go on .Wednesday. The men are being farewelled to-morrow night, tho farewell taking the form of a- dance. Again we have experienced the annoyance of having to wait days and days for our parcel mail, per coastal boats. This form of conveyance may suit To Araroa and other northern townships,'but it certainly does not altogether suit us. The big flagstaff was visited by a oi-eat many visitors on Sunday and tho site is so ideal for an afternoon s ramble that one is forced to think what a boon it would be to Mum the section wherein, is situated the sLu seaside as a public reserve. So dose to tlie township, so beautifully situatec, and having some Histone connection and interest, it makes such a place ideal for the purpose of a public US °Tlm two boats —Mako and Kahn—have both worked the Bay after having been delayed m the work ov m... to heavy weather. „
