Mamari were duly received m good order and condition. The carcases were plated by me in the hands of the Vational Food Fund for distribution, in accordance with your request, fa relief of distress in this country caused through the war. Tins .fund us closely associated with the Bn nee of Yales Fund. It has a splendid organisation for the distribution of food and m o - ing excellent work. I trust that tm* arrangement may be satisfactoi y vour committee, to whom I have to express my thanks for their exceedingly handsome and kind girt. -Tho splendid gift from tho borne Citizens’ Defence consisting of 2G9G carcases or mutton and 200 carcases oi lamb shipped PJ s s. Indrapura, was landed in cmcelK nt condition. The instructions given your letter of 6th January that t - shipment was for realisation, and th proceeds to be devoted to Die rel.m et distress caused through the yi a. - July noted and carried into <• fleet-.
