FUTURE OF RETURNED SOLDIERS.
THE GOVERNMENT’S PREPARATIONS. . (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEC-2AH. ) WELLINGTON. Aug. 12. The Government is losing no time in preparing for the future of returned soldiers. Already definite proposals have been submitted to Cabinet by the Prime Alinister, who is also Minister for Labor. “We propose,” said "Mr Massey, “To give one Alinister charge of the returning soldiers to see that_ everything will be done for them m providing them with employment, getting them on to the laud.'or, in the case of disabled men, arranging for instruction to be given them by which it, will be possible for them t-o do something in the way of supplementing the military pensions provided by the State.” Mr Alassev said that he was not m a position to say what was being done in this direction in other countnes,but he felt sure that, as far as New Zealand was concerned we were proceeding along the fight lillDS.
