DOMINION NEWS.

MINERS AND COST OF LIVING

(Press Association Telegram.) GREYMOUTH, Aug. 10

The State Miners’ Union yesterday decided to ask the Government to bring about- a- meeting of the Miners’ Federation and the coal-owners to discuss an advance in wages, due to the increased cost of living, and thereby prevent any drastic action on the part of the. Union at a time of stress, as it has no wish to be compelled, to take similar action to the Welsh miners.

A resolution was also passed calling on the Government to end the-alleged victimisation practised on the waterfronts of New Zealand.
