As a result of Sir James Parr * negotiations. General Loder has presented a valuable silver challenge cup for competition at ho chic: shows in New Zealand, witn a view to encouraging the preservation ci native hush and flora. The competition will he arranged by trustees, consisting of the Minister Oi Agi ;* culture and two recognised botanists. Colonel Loder presented the cup to Mr Coates, who is conveying it tc- New Zealand.—4. and N.Z.C.A.
