Although- spending only twelve hours in Winnipeg, Mr Bruce delivered speeches before the Canadian Club and the Women’s Canadian Club, inspected grain elevators, and informally discussed agricultural problems with members of the Government. The Premier’s addresses stressed the importance oi the part agriculture plays in the national greatness of Canada and Australia, but pointed out that “man cannot live by bread alone.” He indicated the responsibilities cf nationhood, anci outlined what Australia was doing to fulfil its responsibilities, particularly as concerns defence.

Mr Bruce and party were the guests of honor at a private dinner at Government House this evening, and then left immediately for Vancouver. There will be no further stops till they arrive there.—A.N.Z.C.A.
