INSPECTOR

The need for travellers on the M ai-rca-Napier road to close the gate on the Mohaka bridge after passing over it was discussed at the monthly meeting of the East Coast Rabbit Board on Saturday. The discussion arose cut or two complaints i'rom_ the inspector in charge of the W airoa district. The first complaint related to a driver with a lorry load of lambs who had crashed into the gate and broken the’arm. The damage has since been repaired and it was decided that the lorrv driver be charged with the cost of repairs. The other complaint arose- out of an instance where a Gisborne driver was alleged to have leit the gate

OI ThV driver in question waited on the Board in support of a plea that Court action be stayed, statins that another car had been following him. It was decided that the mattei ho placed in the hands of the Board s solicitors with instructions to prosecute, but not press for a penalty as it was merely required to treat the matter as a warning.
