PALACE THEATRE
“LONG LIVE THE KING.”
“Long Live the King,” the new Metro picture starring Jackie C'oogan, which will be seen at the Palace commencing at to-day’s matinee, is from the novel of Mary Roberts Rinehart. It lias adventure, romance, colorful backgrounds and drama and then—for good measure—one big thrill—the rescue of the Crown Prince of Lavonia who has been imprisoned in a cellar. The Prince has managed to slip up to tire roof of an • inn in the town, and from about four stories above the ground sees his faithful guard Nikky on horseback in the street below. As he catches the eye of his aide de camp he jumps from the roof right into Nikky’s arms — the impact of which sends Nikky’s horse off at a gallop. Jackie Coogan, playing the part of the Prince, was safeguarded in making the jump so that the producers did not have to resort to the use of a double for the scene. Others in the cast are Alan Forrest (Nikky) Rosemary Thebe. Ruth Renick and Alan Hale. Mary Roberts Rinehart, the author oi “Long Live the King,” is enthusiastic ovqr the choice of Jackie to fill the role of the little Prince of the story. “I think that he is ideal for Otto. He has precisely the humor, pathos and fine sensitiveness of my little prince and T am confident that he will give the part his usual highlyintelligent interpretation.”
