An enterprising South African steeplejack named Hubert Kirkland is on his way to Australia to erect and recondition flagstnffs in readiness for the Duke of York’s visit. Kirkland anticipated the Prince of Wales’ tour, and made a small fortune in Australia through his skill in scaling high flagstnffs.
