AUSTRALIAN DAVIS CUP TEAM. COMMITTEE APPOINTED TO 'WATCH PLAYERS. MELBOURNE, Jan. 17. A meeting of the Australian Tennis Council appointed a committee to watch the form of contestants in the, Australian tennis championships at the end of this month, and to pick a team if it thought advisable to participate in the 1927 Davis Cup matches. The Council agreed to permit matches between amateurs and professionals provided the State D'nnis Associations were placed in lull control of the matches and the proceeds were devoted to some tennis ■purposes. It also was decided that Australia should Vote in favor of Germany being allowed to enter the Unvis Cup competition, and favoring the cup being competed for annually. ' —U.P.A
N.S.V. BEAT WAMIAHAPA. MASTEKTUN, Jam 37. The New South Wales tennis team. played a match to-day against a Wairarapa team, supplemented by G. Udvier, N. R. C 7 Mil, son and CL E. Malfroy.
