LONDON WOOL SALES.„ Messrs Williams and Kettle, Ltd. have received the following cabled advice from their London agents in reference to the wool sales which opened on Jan. 18: There was a good attendance of buyers with keen competition from all sections. Halfbred and fine crossbred advanced 5 per cent, on last sale’s closing rates. Prices for medium and coarse crossbred remain firm at unchanged rates. WOOL SALES Messrs Murray Roberts and Co., Ltd., are in receipt of the following cable from their London house under date January 18: Sales opened firm, large attendance buyers, competition keen all sections operating freely. Compared closing rates last London sales, greasy merino best descriptions advanced a per cent.; other descriptions and scoured merino par to o per cent, advance; crossbred greasy fine advanced 5 per cent. ; medium ancl coarse market very firm; crossbred scoured and slipe market shows no material change.
