U.LEGED THEFT OF MONEY FROM LODGE.
AUCKLAND, Jan. 20. The theft of £2O, the property of i od"-e No. 4428 of the New Zealand Royal Order of Buffaloes at Auckland on December 31, was admitted by Ernest Wright (31) in the Police Court. . . . Senior Detective Hammond. mentioned that Wright had been arrested at Wellington. He was formerly secretary of the Lodge, and. v- as about to leave for England. In order that further inquiries might lie made about accused he was remanded to appear on Monday next. —P.A.
TWO MEN to BE EXTRADITED TO SYDNEY. ALLEGED WIFE DESERTION ■ AND ALLEGED THEFT OF MONEY. AUCKLAND, Jan. SO. Two men charged in the Police Court with offences alleged to have keen committed in Sydney were ordered to lie extradited to Australia. Stanley Richard Reynolds (37) was charged" with deserting his wife at Sydney on March 11, 1926. Constable" B. L. Caesar, of the New South Wales Police, produced the original warrant for the arrest of Reynolds. He asked that accused should be given into his custody for •extradition to Sydney. Mr Vialoux said lie was acting for creditors, and was instructed to ask that Reynolds should not be returned to Australia immediately as there v. as a likelihood of bankruptcy pro- , -edings. Senior Detective Hammond suhi, it ted that Mr Yialoux had notanding in the matter. However, the Magistrate, Mr Hunt, in making an order for extradition, adjourned the case until tomorrow morning. Rowan Ross Riley (21), who was wrested by the Onehunga police on charge of stealing £123, the -r-ru- . arty of Electrolux, Ltd., of Sydi. -y. was also ordered to be extraitt-c-d" in custody of Constable Caesar to Sydney by the Marama, which siuA Im-morrow. —P.A.
