“CHARLEY’S AUNT”—SYD CHATi.i.N— fO-w IGHT. “Charley’s Aunt,” the picture which is to be presented at the Opera House to-night, is one of the greatest comedies tlie world has known, and in 40 years it\has lost none of its charms, i Exhibitors who have ' already screened it are most enthusiastic over the production. “Charley's Aunt” has been released exclusively by Paramount, and supporting Syd. Chaplin is a notable cast of players. HVictly, the story is ns follows: Sir i'ancourt Babberley (Syd. Chaplin), known as “Babbs,” is in France paying court to Eia Delahay, whose father spends a lot of time at the gambling casinos. Acting on a- tip from “Babbs,” Delahay loses a large sum of money, and Ela, believing hoi father was “irained,’ grows angry and sends “Babbs” away. Later, at St. Okie’s College, Oxford, Jack Chesney and Charley Wykeham are preparing to propose to their girls, Kitty and Amy. Stephen Spettigue, the girls’ guardian, knows that if they marry his fees will be discontinued. They hit on the idea of having the girls up for lunch, to meet Donna Lucia, Charley’s aunt from Brazil, but they have to work fast for Spettigue intends to take the girls away co Scotland that night. “Babbs” is now in Scotland, too. The boys invite him over to entertain the aunt in order that they can get in a few words with tlie girls. The hoys receive a message that Donna Lucia is not coming that day. The girls arrive and “Babbs” comes in wearing tlie costume for the play, and lie is pressed into service, to impersonate the aunt. Screamingly funny cam-r-Tications then hppnen between . T "ck's father, old Snettigue. and the genuine Charley’s aunt and the bogus aunt.
