MAGISTRATES’ COURTS.
CHRISTCHURCH. Monday, December 14. [Before G. L. Mellish, Esq., R.M.] DRUNK AND DISORDERLY. Thomas Waterworth was fined 5s ; James Burns, 10s ; and William Calder, who had been lately convicted for a similar offence, was fined 40s. Thomas MUormack, for being drunk and resisting the police, was fined 10s. LYTTELTON. Saturday, December 12. [Before W. Donald, Esq, R.M.] LUNACY. Patrick Mulchay, on remand from the 9th, was charged with this offence, and after bearing evidence, the Bench dismissed him, with tbs payment of 12s expenses incurred in searching for him. DRUNKENNESS. Frederick Agassiz, a new arrival, also on remand from the 9th, was discharged with a tevere reprimand,
William Walton, an old offender, arrested by Constable Emson, was fined 20s, with the alternative of 96 hours’ imprisonment. ABSENT WITHOUT LEAVE. James Smith, a seaman belonging to the Dorette, was charged with this offence, and ordered on board
