Dunedin.—Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co report for the week ending May 20th as follows: Fat Cattle—Only 150 head were yarded, which •were, however, sufficient for the requirements of the trade. We sold on account of the N Z and A.L. Co, Messrs Gray and Bremuer, J. Waldic, and W. Patrick, 81 head. Cows brought from £7 10s to £lO 2s Od; bullocks, from £s 15s to £l2-prices equal to 32s 6d per 1001 b for good quality, and 28s lor medium do. We also sold privately 45 bead at above quotations. Fat Calves -We sold 12 head at from 3ns to 00a each. Fat Sheep—A full supply of 2700 came forward. We sold on account of the New Zealand and Australian Land Company 500 cross-bred ewes, at 12s, and 200 merino ewes at us 6d; on account of Mr Francis Manson. 2)0 crossbreds, at 12s: on account of Mr Donald M'Donald, 450 merino ewes, at 5s 6d; on account of James Allan, Esq, 134 cross-bred ewes, very prime, at 15s 3d to 16s 3d; also. 250 mixed merinos, at from 3s 6d to 7s. We quote prime halfbreds, 2jd to 3d per lb; ditto mevinos, 2?,d. Privately we sold 450 cross-breds at quotations. Store Cattle—We have no transactions to report. Store .Sheep—We have still inquiries for both merinos and cross-breds. During the week we sold 2900 merino ewes, full mouthed, in lamb to Leicester rams, at 4s, and 1500 cross-bred ewes at 8s Od. Hoi ses—There is a fair demand for strong coach horses, but draughts are a little dull of sale. We have to report having sold* 5 account of Mrs Miller, Maungatua, a two-year-old draught entire colt by Emperor, for £2OO, the purchaser being Mr Charles McGregor, of i'almerston, who informs us that he intends travelling him in that district. We also sold on accountof Mr James Oliver, a team of eight light draught horses, waggon, &e; they brought from £33 to £44 10s each. We quote heavy draughts, £45 ti £6O; medium ditto, £27 to £4O; first-class saddle and light harness horses, £25 to £3O; medium do, £l4 to £2O; light and inferior, £5 to £lO. Sheepskins—At our weekly sale we disposed of about. 1400 at prices fully equal to last week's rates. There was a full attendance of buyers, and the lots were well competed for. Butchers' green skins, half-breds, brought 2s 6d to 2s lOd each ; merino, Is 7d to 28; station skins, 3s 4dto Is Cd; pelts, 9(3 to Is 2d. Hides, —The demand is good, and prices firmly sustained. Well-conditioned lots are wanted for shipment, and saleable at from 4d to l{d per lb. During the week we sold 170 medium weights, at from 16s 3d to 20s 6d each , callskins at 2s od to 3s each. Grain.—Wheat continues in fair demand at 48 6d to 4s Od per bushel, for good and prime quality; medium samples are worth 4s to Is id. and fowls' feed, 3s 6d to 3s lOd. Oats are light in stock, and readily sold at from Is 0d to is iorl for feed, up to 2s per bushel for prime milling samples. Barley. - Except in samples of superior malting, very little is doing. AVe quote prime malting 4s od to 4s lOd per bushel; medium, dull of sale at 4s to 4s 3d ; inferior in very little demand.
