London, Sept 7. Lord Hardwicks is desirous of being appointed to a Colonial Governorship. The ship Bratsberg, which was wrecked on the voyage from Sydney to Montreal, has been floated off and docked for repairs. Tonnage is becoming scarce and shipping companies’ shares are advancing in price. Lord Knutsford, Secretary of State for the Colonies, is awaiting despatches from Sir Anthony Musgrave, Governor of Queensland, before taking any action with regard to the dispute between the latter and his Ministers. In the course of a speech made at a banquet Lord Charles Beresford declared it was essential that there should be a change in the Ad miralty. The island of Cuba, West Indies, hag been visited by a cyclone and great damage is reported. It is rumored that Princess Louise, the eldest daughter of the Prince of Wales, is to be married to the Czarewitch. Vienna, Sept 7. A ring of speculators are operating here for a corner in maize.
