A settler in South Australia, when making a Lor fence, met with a terrible death. A heavy log fell off the skid, and striking him a terrible blow on the head, almost severed it from the body. Mr Withy warns his constituents that while they are continuing the enormous expense for education the system is tottering to its fall. He estimates that it costs £5 7s 9d per child.
