MAIL NOTICES.
Holiday, 9th November (Prince of Wales’ Birthday).—The Post Offices in the postal district of Gishome will observe a close holiday on the 9th inst. Mails usually despatched on Friday will close at 7.30 p m on Thursday, Bth. The Telegraph Office will open from 9 a m to 10 a m and from 7 p m to 8 pm. A delivery of town letters will be made over the counter on Thursday evening between 7pm and 8 pm. LOCAu mails. For Makaraka, Waerenga-a-hika and Ormond, daily at 2.30 p.m., and arrive at Gisborne daily at 11 a.m. For Wairengaokuri, Tiniroto and Wairoa, every Monday, at 11 a.m., and arrive at Gisborne every Thursday, at 5 p.m. For Waimata Valley, every Monday, at 1.30 p.m., and arrive at Gisborne every Monday, at 10.30 a.m. For Tologa Bay, Tokomeru, Tuparoa. Akuaku, Port Awanni, Waipiroßay and Bangitukia every Friday, at 7 p.m. and arrive at Gisborne every Thursday at 6 p.m. For Matawhero, Te Arai Bridge and Patntahi, every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, at 2 p.m., and arrive at Gisborne on the same days, at 11 a.m. For Te Karaka and Whatatntu, every Tuesday at 2 p.m., and arrive at Gisborne every Thursday at 11 ajn. For Hick's Bay and Te Araroa every alternate Friday at 7 p.m., and arrive at Gisborne every alternate Thursday at 6.m. Noib.—Parcels will be received for despatch between 9a tn and 5 pm, but not later. On Fridays the despatch for South will close at the same hour as the registered letters. W. W.
