The Gisborne Standard AND COOK COUNTY GAZETTE Published every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday Morning.
Thursday, November 8, 1888.
Be just and fear not; Let all the ends thou alm’st at be thy country’s, Thy God's, and truth’s.
In another column we publish a long letter in reference to the harbor question—much longer, indeed, than we could allow under ordinary circumstances, and on which account we have ourselves to practise a little selfdenial. But it cannot be said of us that wa do not endeavor to give both sides fair play, and after so much has been said on the one side and so little on the other, it is quite a pleasure to see that the side which had so little to say is not going to remain altogether unheard of. Truly much of what has been stated in the communication referred to has been said over and over again, and though some points have been previously referred to in our own articles as requiring serious attention, we think on the whole it will be an easy matter to satisfactorily answer all that has been set forth. Borne mis-statements are also contained in the letter, which, however, can be refuted in good time.
