THE QUEENSLAND TROUBLE

REPORTS BEING CIRCULATED IN ENGLAND.

THE ALLEGED REASON OF SIR T. McILWfIAITH’S RESIGNATION. London, Dec. 10.

Persistent reports are being circulated to the effect that Sir T. Mollwraith resigned the Premiership of Queensland in consequence of pressure brought to bear on him by the National and Irish parties. Messrs Morehead (Premier) and Pattison (Treasurer) are supposed to be ready to insist on the right of vetoing an objectionable appointment, while Sir Thomas Mcflwraith was not prepared to go to extremes. Sir Henry Wyllie Norman's appointment has not been gazetted yet, and it is reported that there is some hitch over hia appointment. He arrives in London in a month. Bbisbane, Dec. 12.

The Government deny that Sir T. Mollwraith resigned his portfolio on account of pressure from the Irish and National parties.
