GLADSTONE ON O’CONNELL.
A GLOWING OPINION. A HERITAGE OF HATRED. London, Jan. 8. Mr Gladstone, in an article in the N inoteenth Century, says that Daniel O’Connell was the greatest hud most popular patriot of the century, and the greatest Irishman that ever lived. He was superior to such national leaders as Kossuth, Mazzani, and Cavour. The English hatred to Ireland was inherited, and was indicative of the feelings of the wrong-doers to the wronged nation.
