London, Jan. 17. The reported arrest ct “ Jock the Ripper ” arose from the extraordinary likeness of an Englishman named Gray (who has just arrived from Tunis) to the alleged author of the Whitechapel horrors. The Victorian loan is now quoted at a premium of 3| per cent. Lillywhite states he is a loser by his recent cricket and football tour in Australia. Bbblin, Jan. 17. The Reichstag yesterday had under consideration the case of Professor Geffcken, charged with publishing the diary of the late Emperor Frederick. The indictment Bet forth that in the year 1879, when at Wiesbaden, the then Crown Prince was induced to lend his diary to the Professor. The volume contained 000 pages and was in the possession of Professor Geffcken for three week-. The Professor was charged with extracting twenty pages from the diary. A duplicate of the diary is missing. Sr Pbtbesbubg, Jan. 17. Zanzibar, Jan 17. Eight German missionaries, stationed near here, were massacred by Arabs on Sunday last, Washington, Jan. 17. There are now large fleets of war vessels on each side of the Isthmus of Darien, and others are being despatched.
