DILLON’S FAREWELL SPEECH. THE TIMES ON DILLON’S VISIT TO THE COLONIES. London, Jan. 12. Mr John O’Connor, M.P. for Tipperary, has been arrested for an offence under the Crimes Act, He violently resisted the police, and was dragged by them a distance of three miles to gaol. Mr John Dillon, who is about to sail for the colonies, in a farewell speech at the National League Convention, said the spirit of the League was nnbroken, and would be maintained as long as be and William O'Brien were alive. The Times characterises the proposed visit of Mr John Dillon to the colonies as a begging mission, and says that he is trading on the ignorance and prejudices of Irishmen in the colonies to obtain money for the Parnellite cause.
