DISAPPEARANCE OF PIGGOTT. A WRITTEN CONFESSION THAT THE LETTERS WERE FORGED, CONFESSION SAID TO BE UNTRUE. London, Feb, 26. Piggott did not appear in Court to day, and hs it was ascertained- he was missing from his hotel, a warrant was issued for his arrest. Sir Charles Russell stated that on Saturday Piggott, in the presence of Messrs Labouche e and G. A. Sala, signed a written confession that he forged the letters himself. Mr Shannon, one of the Times’ solicitors, produced a letter written by Piggott stating that the confession was untrue. In the letter Piggott stated ha got the first batch from Pat Casey, and believed them to be genuine. Piggott wrote the body and Casey forged the signature to two of the second batch of the Parnell letters, and also one of Davitt’s and one of K-lly’s. He asserts that none of Egan's were forged.
