Holy Trinity Church.

ORGANISING AN INSTITUTE,

The new Sunday School building facing erected in connection with the Church of England is now nearly completed, and it will be opened on Thursday evening next, with a tea and concert. Ona of the features associated with the oonatruction of the new building will be the better provision for the instruction and entertainment of the rising population. An Institute is to be formed, the details of which have not yet been decided upon, but which it is proposed should be tbe foundation of various branches for religious instruction, literary advancement and elocutionary practice, and mental and physical recreation—in fact it is proposed, without being strictly denominational, that the Institute should aim at welding the Church members together sod encouraging a healthy spirit among the young people, A meeting was held on Thursday evening to consider the matter, and the Ven, Archdeacon Williams, Dr Pollen, and Messrs DeLautour, Kenny, Hugo, and Batcliffe (with power to add to ths number) undertook to act in the matter. A subcommittee was appointed to draft proposals to be submitted to the Church members, to form fan union to manage tbe affair. The matter will be alluded to on Thursday evening, The Rev Mr Gardiner is nominal Secretary, and of course the Rev Mr Fox acts ex officio, Mr Hugo will probably superintend tbe gymnastic department,
