London, April 80, Sir Hercules Robinson haa bade farewell to the Cape, and took his departure yesterday from that Colony. Lord Knutsford was desirous that he should accept another term of office, but Sir Hercules was anxious to retire. Sir G. G. Sprigg. tbe Premier, on behalf of the Ministry and Colonists, has officially stated that in future the Cape will decide as to who it will accept as Governor, regardless of the {appointment that may be made by the Colonial office. Persistant rumors confirm the suspicion that Russia is secretly menacing Turkey. It is reported that El Senouissi ia now threatening Egypt,
