The Lord Mayor of London is taking active steps for the organisation of a movement to provide a fund to be presented as a testimonial to Captain Murrell, of the ship Missouri, for his gallant conduct in rescuing the Danish emigrants on board the Atlanta. A terrible tragedy has occurred at the village of Bamtree in Essex. During a quarrel between a father and eon the latter struck the former with a farm instrument and killed him. The son then committed suicide.
