The testimonial thanking Major Atkinson for the action he took in February last, previously referred to in our columns, is now being actively signed. As it is believed that an attack will be made on the Premier almost as soon as the House meets, on account of what he did at a time when we were threatened with what woqld have probably proved a serious calamity to tha district, had it not been averted, it behoves every settler to sign this document. We have raised a question on this matter, but we repeat there should be complete unanimity about it. Copies of the testimonial will be lying fcr signature this evening at the Bridge Hotel, the Makaraka Hotel, the Waerenga-a-bilta Hotel, the Ormond Hotel, and the stores of Mr Walters, at Ormond, and Mr Wilson, Te Aral, as well as many places in Gisborne. As it is necessary that these different sheets should be collected on Thursday next, so that they may be forwarded to Wellington by Friday's boat, it ia hoped that all persons having the interest of the district at heart will sign one of other of the sheets at soon as possible,
