MORE CHALLENGES. Nxw Yobx, July 10. During the fight between Jake Kilrain and John L, Sullivan, the former struok his opponent foul blows on throe occasions, and also spiked his foot. Sullivan exhibited wonderful wrestling powers, and sueoeded in throwing his antagonist twenty times. Sullivan did not show any signs of distress until the 47th round, and then only suffered slightly, but Kilrain was severely punished. London, July 11. Smith and Mitchell have both ohallengsd Sullivan to fight them for the championship.
In a London letter, just to hand, referring to tho above fight, the writer states *. —" According to latest advices tho longponding match between Sullivan and Kilrain has been definitely fixed for the Sth of July, but I am quite prepared to hear that it ended in a fizzle. Kilrain however seems to think it will not, he evidently does not like the prospect, not that I think bo for one moment funks meeting Sullivan, but he says tho climate of Now Orleans in June is killing, end that the prospect of fair play depends—as he puts it—on who has the strongest eorner. Kilrain is a very unassuming fellow, and will make friends whatever he goes, as he has not a sign of blow about him.”
