Criminal Neglect.
FILTHY DAIRIES: HOW SICKNESS IS CHEATED. WnLLiNGrow, last night. Mr Clifton, Cattle Inspector, reports that 28 out of the 84 Wellington dairies art in indescribably dirty state, the cows wading through the filth, and then being milked, with their udders dripping that filth. The water, in several instances, la drawn from stagnant creeks, into which manure from the byres ia drained, and no other water is provided foa washing cans* etc. A similar report from Dr Martin, respecting soma Karori dairies, was laid before the City Council last night. The Mayor said the Premier had promised to bring in a Bill this session, empowering local bodies to inspect dairies and oharg fees for inspection.
