The new owners of our old friend Fitzjames evidently do not intend to allow the grass to grow under their feet, before having a try to haul in some of their purchase money, as he is entered for four events at the Napier Park’s October meeting. Mr G. Stead has sold his racehorse Gipsy King to Messrs Nolan, Tonks. and Co., of Hawera, where he will take up stud duties. The rain that has fallen in the last few days has done a wonderful amount of good to the Park Company's racecourse, the grass springing up beautifully. The training track also is in splendid going order. It is stated, qpon very good authority, that old Impostor is at the present time in grand fettle, and is a credit to his trainer (Mr Alex. Parsons), and if he continues training on as at present, there is no doubt that, fairly treated, he holds a first mortgage over some of the 'plums' of oqr approaching race meetings,
